Social Media & Content Production Assistant
eLab Communications is looking for a creative, reliable social media and content production assistant to help capture, edit and publish short-form content for hospitality, tourism, automotive, event and local-business clients.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands social media, enjoys creating content and is comfortable working both independently and alongside the eLab production and marketing team. Much of the work involves capturing real businesses, restaurants, events and experiences rather than sitting behind a desk all day.
About the Role
The schedule may vary depending on client shoots, events and production needs. This position is well suited to a college student, recent graduate, emerging content creator or someone looking to build professional experience in social media and content production.
What You’ll Do
- Capture vertical video and photography for social media
- Create Reels and short-form video content
- Assist with restaurant, hospitality, event and automotive content shoots
- Edit short-form video for Instagram, Facebook and other platforms
- Help organize and manage content libraries
- Prepare posts, captions and publishing assets
- Assist with content calendars and scheduling
- Help maintain visual and brand consistency across client accounts
- Support eLab photographers, videographers and producers when needed
- Participate in occasional onsite productions and events
What We’re Looking For
- Strong understanding of Instagram, Reels and short-form content
- Good visual instincts
- Comfortable shooting quality content with a modern smartphone
- Basic video-editing ability
- Reliable and organized
- Comfortable communicating with clients and businesses onsite
- Able to work independently and take direction
- Interest in photography, video, marketing or content production
- Based in or able to regularly work around the Monterey Peninsula
Helpful, But Not Required
- CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut or similar editing experience
- Photography experience
- Canva or graphic-design experience
- Experience managing business social-media accounts
- Hospitality or event-content experience
